On September 7, 2011, Ivy Schools and Chengdu Chenghua District Education Foundation visited Dayi District in Chengdu to deliver our message of love to the children at the Changzhen Kindergarten.  It was a culmination of several months of hard work by the families and staff at 5 of the Ivy Schools where we raised a total of 41,066.60 RMB, in addition to a large quantity of children’s books and educational toys.

The activity was attended by over 200 people, including the Vice Head of Education Bureau at Chenghua District Ms. Mei Xie; Vice Head of Education Bureau at Dayi District Ms. Lei Bao; Mayor of Hanchang town Ms. Hongbing Wang; Ivy Group CEO Mr. Jack Hsu; and parent representatives from Ivy Schools.

In her speech, the Vice Head of Chenghua Education Bureau Ms. Mei Xie expressed her deepest appreciation for the effort put in by Ivy Schools. At the same time, she is also hoping that Ivy Schools can also bring more of the Multiple Intelligences-based program into Chengdu so that more children can enjoy top quality education.  During the speech by Ms. Lei Bao, Vice Head of Education Bureau at Dayi District, Ms. Bao also openly invited Ivy Group to open schools in the Daiyi District.

“I bear an enormous responsibility today to deliver the love and well-wishes of thousands of Ivy families and staff to Hanchang Kindergarten,” said Mr. Hsu, CEO of Ivy Group.  “What left me with the deepest impression was how our children generously donated their favorite toys to the children at Hanchang Kindergarten.  Ivy also made a matching donation to every yuan raised in the event and we hope that this money will be helpful to the Kindergaten,” added Mr. Hsu. 

As the activity drew to a close, teachers from Ivy Schools performed several dances for the children. Ivy’s foreign teacher then led the children to play several games, and finally the activity ending with the song “Let Love Spread” where the children used sign language to mime out the words.
